A Baby Elephant

Good morning, imagine seeing an elephant in your garden this morning. Thoughtco.com cites that the conception period for a baby elephant is 18 – 22 months, at birth they weigh about 113kg and almost one meter tall. About 99% of calves are born at night with curly black or red hair on their foreheads. The saying “an elephant in the room” means that an obvious problem or the cause of one, is being ignored.

The problem with obvious issues in families or institutions, is that they have long conception periods, even a cute birth, and the persons involved tiptoe around the problem due to its sensitivity. This elephant stands in the way of progress, and if addressed, unpacked bit by bit, can solve mysteries, heartaches, remove obstacles and rebuild relationships. If one is nurturing a baby elephant in the marriage, home, or workplace, take courage to speak up and remove it. Be warned, it can get so big it will destroy the good and the consequences could be unbearable.

God Speaks through the Prophet Isaiah in chapter 57:18 & 19 (GNB) “I have seen how they acted, but I will heal them. I will lead them and help them, and I will comfort those who mourn. I offer peace to all, both near and far! I will heal my people. Ask God for wisdom so that you can address the problem that is stifling your progress or relationship.

Dear Father, open up my spiritual eyes, to see how I can remove the elephant that drains my emotions, breaks my heart or hinders my success. Allow me to take on the problem in a gentle but firm way, to break out and to free myself and others who are affected. Guide me by your Holy Spirit, in Jesus, name, Amen.
