Ever had beef liver for dinner or chicken livers for breakfast?

It is said that liver is high in vitamin A, folic acid, iron, and zinc. Liver is the most nutrient dense organ meat, and it is a powerful source of vitamin A. Vitamin A is beneficial for eye health and for reducing diseases that cause inflammation, including everything from Alzheimer’s disease to arthritis. Medical news says Physicians recommend liver no more than once a week due to the excess vitamin A in the dish. So too one can compare fasting, together with prayer with the aforementioned. Fasting cleanses, the body, is good for spiritual eyesight, brings about a spiritual concentration on the Godly, and removes the dependency on the earthly stuff. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights, and said the following about fasting in Mat 6:17 & 18:

When you go without food, wash your face and comb your hair, so that others cannot know that you are fasting—only your Father, who is unseen, will know. And your Father, who sees what you do in private, will reward you.

Mat 6:17 & 18

Fasting is a personal matter bringing change in the spiritual realm, a concentration of faith to move mountains that can only come through Godly intervention. Waiting on the Lord with fasting and prayer brings great results and purifies the mind as it concentrates on the coming Godly intervention.

Dear Lord, as we fast and pray for our country, we believe that God can intervene, change and turn the tide from bad to good. Remind us of our calling to love, learn, change, rebuke and to put you first. In Jesus name, Amen. Dr Cliff Ferguson – Shalom Centurion.
