IQ Scores

The writer Marilyn vos Savant (born 1946) had an IQ of 228, one of the highest ever recorded. Someone with a “normal” intelligence will score somewhere around 100 on an IQ test. To meet someone with an IQ approaching 200 is certainly impressive. The young King Solomon’s IQ was increased by God.

We read in 1Kings 3:8 &9 (GNB)

Here I am among the people you have chosen to be your own, a people who are so many that they cannot be counted. So give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice and to know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?”

In Verse 12 God answers “I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had before or will ever have again”.

As everyone has a different level of intelligence, it is implied that most choices are made through the process of cognition or learning. Experience, knowledge, and wisdom will affect the intelligent choices one makes as the amount of risk, and or, pleasure is calculated. It was Solomon’s choice to rather be wise than to have riches, he received both, wisdom, and wealth. Before making life changing choices, ensure that you have facts, don’t be led by perception or hearsay.

Dear Lord, create in me a pure heart, open my spiritual ears and eyes so that I may be led by your Holy Spirit. Allow me to make well informed choices, moving away from temptation, that I will see the truth and hear what makes sense. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
