How old can wood get? Interestingly, the oldest piece of furniture is an amazing wooden mausoleum in Ankara in Turkey, at the cemetery of Midas. This oldest piece of furniture in the world, was made through the use of wood piling techniques and more than 2700 years old. Wood today is available in three types: softwoods, hardwoods, and engineered wood. Each of these different wood types can be used in a number of different ways. Yet the most astounding through is that wood, although the tree had died, lives on in a modeled piece of furniture for more than two millennia.
So too our bodies will die, yet the memories and our legacy will live on for a short while, our spirit will live eternally ad when Jesus comes, our body will be rebuilt to its finest glory to live forever as a heavenly being. In His letter to the Romans 2:6-7 (GNB), Paul says:
“For God will reward each of us according to what we have done. Some people keep on doing good, and seek glory, honor, and immortal life; to them God will give eternal life”.
As the tree, one should not fear death, one should fear fire, especially the eternal fire. If the tree is not burned its wood can be turned into an eternal showpiece.
Dear Lord, I pray that my eternal being, my spirit will glorify you in my works. That I will leave a legacy of love, commitment, and honour. Let your Holy Spirit run my mind so that my thoughts are positive and my actions pure. Help me be confident in all I do so that the day will be recorded as successful.
