The longest tunnel in the World

May fresh air, life, and hope fills your day. The Gotthard Base Tunnel is the world’s longest and deepest tunnel. It runs under the Swiss alps between the towns of Erstfeld in the north and Bodio in the south. The tunnel is 57 km long and reaches a depth of 2,300 meters. The final breakthrough in the east tube of the Gotthard Base Tunnel took place in October 2010. It took about 14 years and 2,500 workers to connect the two ends of the tunnel. This final breakthrough in the west tube was completed in March 2011.

In life sometimes one asks why one needs to go through a mountain of problems and not over it. Tunneling through information to gain knowledge is never easy, it is lonely and much night work. The success when tunneling is over, could be studies, building, a big project, programming, all to make life easier for many that will use the underground path created to save time and money.

Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.

James 1:4 & 5 (GNB)

Don’t give up on your dreams, keep tunneling, your dream may make life comfortable for many others following you when your life tunnel is complete. Lord God, for many years I have been working on my vision and I cannot give up. I know you are in control of my darkest hours, and there is light at the end of my tunnel. Grant me patience and understanding when I need it most and be my source of light by your Holy Spirit, Amen. Dr Cliff Ferguson – Shalom Centurion.
