Waking up in the presence of God Almighty.
Biblical Historians date God’s meeting with Moses and the Israelites at Mt Sinai to about 1446 BC. Here, at one occasion, Moses had spent 40 days and forty nights in the presence of God on the Mountain where God spoke to him and gave him the Ten Commandments. Yet, on another occasion, God himself came to meet His people, His presence was astounding.
Whilst God changed the covering of smoke to a covering of His Son’s blood over our hearts, we have the privilege of entering the presence of God every day, by the cleansing of our sin at Calvary.
The words of the song ring loud:
Into Thy presence we come,
not by the works we have done,
but by Thy grace, and Thy grace Alone,
into Thy Presence we come.
Seeking the presence of God exonerates the soul of sin, amplifies the calling of God in the mind, breaks off the things that hold one back in life. There is no better way to start the day than in the Presence of God.
Dear Father, into Your presence I come, not because I am a good person, or that I deserve anything great. But I welcome your Holy Spirit that makes me feel that You are very near, that You understand my longing to be with You. Touch my mind and body with your holiness so that others will see I was with Jesus this morning. Amen.
